Competitive Range Solutions requires the expertise of a talented and experienced MAC Technician to assist in supporting the program’s executive support group. The candidate must reference their ability and experience working in a Department of Defense (DoD) customer environment and effective integration with a government multi-contractor team.
The MAC Technician will be responsible for Moves, Adds, and Changes (MACs), supporting the DoD Technical enterprise. This vital role focuses on executing MAC activities, including but not limited to activations/deactivations, installations, relocations, and upgrades of network and communication equipment. The MAC Technician will ensure operational excellence and the seamless execution of tasks within the defined scope of work.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Carry out MAC activities involving hardware moves, port activations/deactivations, installations, relocations, and equipment upgrades, utilizing existing bench stock materials for task completion.
- Provide essential support for VLAN configurations, VPN Routing and Forwarding, extending VLANs, and other network configurations within the DoD accreditation boundary.
- Follow the established change management process, managing service request tickets for all assigned MAC tasks, including installations, activations, modifications, and deactivations.
- Maintain accurate records of all MAC activities, ensuring the tracking system is up to date for customer and government oversight access.
- Participate in analyzing recurring problems related to MACs, aiding in identifying and resolving issues to improve service quality.
- Provide technical support for the Voice MACs, installing Line Provisioning and Phone Deployment.
Qualifications/Experience:
- Active TS/SCI clearance
- Proven experience in a technical support role, preferably within a network or telecommunications environment.
- Familiarity with network configurations, including VLANs, VPNs, and other related technologies.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with team members and clients.
Education/Certifications:
- Associated degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field (preferred).
- Data Cabling Installer and Fiber Optics Installer (FOIC) (required).
